   Our office has update a few worksheets which will expedite your tax filing process. The worksheets help you prepare for your upcoming tax appointment and if you drop off your tax return it will expedite the filing process. BREAKING NEWS!  

The House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation wednesday that would allow individuals who make contributions to victims of the earthquake in Haiti to claim an itemized charitable deduction on their 2009 tax return instead of having to wait until next year to claim the deduction on their 2010 tax return. Ask one of our tax professionals for more information on this new tax development.

 

 

Tax Season 2010   

HAPPY NEW YEAR! From all of us here at Anthony R. Loya & Associates. To help you be well prepared we have enclosed our handy yellow worksheets. We hope that you will use it or any of our other helpful worksheets or your own worksheet to simplify the filing process. If you don’t already have an appointment please call us ASAP to schedule one with our skilled tax preparers. You can also drop off or mail in your income tax return information along with the completed yellow worksheet. We will work on and try to complete your return in one week or less. We are also making appointments for the 2010 tax year. Please feel free to call us so we can schedule you an appointment.

   There are a few important reminders. For those who have their refunds directly deposited you must please remember to let us know of any bank, address, and/or telephone changes. Also, please provide us with your email address so we may have an alternative contact in case of a question or important tax related information. For those taxpayers who receive 1099’s and/or are sole proprietors residing in the Los Angeles County please be aware of the business license requirements. Our office urges you to file in a timely manner so you can take advantage of the “small business exemption” which will exclude any sole-proprietor who generates less than $100,000 in gross receipts from paying city tax. The business license application/renewal forms are available online at www.finance.lacity.org nd must be filed by March 1, 2010.
